  More contributors like Darrell Vidaurri,
who just couldn't find a decent mask of his favorite movie monster, so he decided to make his own!
For obvious reasons, he calls his creation TEENAGE MONSTER, and told BOX of MONSTERS a little about how he did it.
"I found all the photos I could from books, magazines, and the internet, made copies & hung them all over the place.
From those I did my sculpture over a period of 3 months... sometimes I'd only work on it 15 minutes a day, sometimes not for a week.
I even trashed the sculpt a couple times because I wasn't happy with the results.
When I was satisfied, I molded it with Ultracal 30. A day later I
poured the first pull with high quality latex. I thought it came out okay.
I did a couple of test paint jobs till I was happy & then came up with a way to glue on the crepe hair so it looks like the movie.
I tried it on to see if it was wearable, and it fit great! I'm ready for next
Halloween! I'm also going to do one in green to match the lobby card."
Check out Darrell's latest creation based on the alien from the 1954 movie
Killers From Space. Yup, I'd say that's about dead-on!
You may have seen or even purchased some of Darrell's creations on eBay.
"It's first & foremost a labor of love, but the fact that I can sell a few copies & make some money is great too!"
